Young people take a lot of things for granted. That’s actually part of what makes them so charming! They don’t yet realize that many of those things they expect to last forever simply won’t and even if they know better it certainly doesn’t stop them from enjoying what they’ve got while they’re young. That’s really the best attitude to have. It’s far better not to make the most of those things.
So what are the most important things that young people ought to make the most of while they are young?
Senses
It’s obviously but important to start with the senses. They don’t last forever uncorrupted by advanced years. Hearing aids and glasses are great at prolonging the longevity of the ears and the eyes, but the sense do diminish so it’s important for young people to expose themselves to as many sights and sounds to remember as they can.
Looks
Looks are something that cannot be preserved and people tend to reflect on their younger years and wonder why they were ever disappointed in their appearance. Getting older puts these things into perspective. It enables people to see that when they were young, they looked fine and they should have nipped all those body anxieties in the bud long ago.
Energy
It’s vitally important for young people to make the most of the wonderful energy they have. That energy when it is channeled in the right directions gives people the chance to have all sorts of wonderful experiences, make a fantastic life for themselves, feel happy in their work and do a great job for their families. The energy does run out eventually so it’s important to fill life while it’s still there.
Sexuality
Sex is the cause of much anxiety for the young, but when everything works and the opportunities are available there’s nothing really to worry about! Getting older means a reduction in libido for most people and age generally subdues the sexual instincts. Young people ought to get their fill of the physical and emotional experiences made available through sex and as long as they keep it safe and keep it honest they won’t hurt anyone or hurt themselves in the process.
Sociability
It’s not that you necessarily feel less sociable when you get older, although some undoubtedly do, it’s often that the opportunities to be sociable are diminished. Young people are usually in a position to enjoy having people around them – family, friends and colleagues. If they don’t enjoy those people at the right time then they may regret it later on.
